Return on Investment in Training
The course examines the role of training as one
of the most powerful enablers of organisational performance
improvement, and how return on investment (ROI) is used as one of
the main levers in achieving this.
This is an applied course which will allow
people who are responsible for initiation or management of training
programmes to make practical evaluations and present these for
adoption by the senior management of the organisation.
Duration
3 - 5 days
Who Should Attend
Persons responsible for initiation or approval of training e.g.
business owners or executives seeking to lever training as an
enabler of performance improvement, senior managers, training
manages or training department staff, line managers.
Course Content
The course will initially examine the rationale
for training and how this supports the business goals. Using this
as a baseline, it will examine the main types of training which
might be given and how these may be broadly quantified and balanced
to meet the overall goals of the organisation.
The course will devote 30% of its time
examining the overall principles and 70% of relating these to
practical situations. The delegates will get ample opportunity to
work with pre-prepared models and take these through a full cycle
to completion - replicating a real life situation.
Delegates are encouraged to bring or introduce
their own scenarios (ensuring that confidential or other such
issues are removed) and using the principles for group discussion.
Working with relevant material, provides a rich and practical basis
for tangible consolidation of the principles.
The course is generally run over 3 days, but
may be extended to 5 days if the client wishes their delegates to
have more practice or examine a company specific need.
The topics will have a structured framework of
principles; learning will be reinforced by discussion facilitated
by the course leader enabling the delegates to learn by
participation and challenge.
